Because large breasts inevitably sag, breast reduction is combined with a breast lift. The most commonly used technique is the inverted T (anchor) method, which allows for the aesthetic removal of excess skin, glandular tissue, and fatty tissue, followed by the creation of a newly shaped breast.
After surgery, a drain (small suction tube) is often left in place for a few days to allow blood and wound fluid to drain safely. The skin is closed with hidden sutures, the wound is dressed, and a sports bra is provided; bandaging is usually not required.

Risks of Breast Reduction

Breast reduction is a major procedure, as it involves interference with the blood supply and innervation of the breast. Therefore, compared to breast lift surgery, complications may occur somewhat more frequently.
Possible risks include:

• wound infection,

• temporary or permanent sensory disturbances.
