First, the patient and the surgeon arrange a consulting date. During this personal meeting they discuss the patient’s aesthetic problems, the possible solutions and they choose the most appropriate one. In many cases picture documents help to make the decision. The patient can take a look at the operating room as well as the implants.
After setting the date for the surgery, the patient needs to undergo some examinations ( blood test, urinalysis, chest x-ry or chest screening, ECG,ultrascan or mammography). After these examinations there are two ways to continue:
In case of an outpatient surgery, the patient arrives at the clinic an hour before surgery.
After the necessary administration, the operation starts. We give the patient infusion that relaxes her/him. Then we give local anaesthesia and perform the surgery. During the intervention the patient is awake and is allowed to move a little. Concerning the surgery, amnesia often happens. After the operation when the patient is totally awake and conscious s/he can return home with a companion.
If the operation is performed under general or epidural anaesthesia the patient must not eat before the intervention. The operation is performed with full anaesthetic background.
After the observation period (1 night at the private clinic after anesthesia) the patient can go home with a companion. During the days after the intervention the doctor and patient are in phone contact and some check-ups are also necessary. Taking pain killers after operation is recommended.
Depending on the surgery type we remove the sutures 1 or 2 weeks after surgery. Patients are asked to return to the surgery for a free check up 6 weeks after surgery and some types of intervention require frequent controls. Surgical lines start to disappear about 6 months after surgery and this process continues up to a year.
